Top Paint Colors 2022
Today I am selecting paint colors for a new space. I am always super excited, yet almost overwhelmed by new paint colors because of the endless options. This morning I was stunned by the magnificent color pallet Mother Nature presented. No camera can accurately portray the infinite number of grays, blues, purples, peaches and whites available.
Color is so inspiring. And it looks like this year, paint colors will not just inspire, but also be soothing. A soothing shade of green. Each year, every paint company announces a Color of the Year based on current and predicted trends influenced by fashion, culture and society preferences. I like to notice the similarities in selections between the different companies.
For 2022, the Benjamin Moore Color of the Year is October Mist (1495). According to their website, “This gently shaded sage quietly anchors a space, while encouraging individual expression through color.”
Sherwin Williams has selected a similar shade in Evergreen Fog (9130). As stated on their website, “this a versatile and calming hue, a chameleon color of gorgeous green-meets-gray, with just a bit of blue.”
Although I do find the trends and predictions interesting, I always recommend selecting a color that speaks to you. Color is deeply personal and since you are the one who will be eating, sleeping and playing in your space, it does not matter what Mr. Moore or Mr. Williams is predicting.
