When orange is a *key player* in the design of a space, it is often bold and somewhat unexpected. The color orange is associated with optimism, confidence, and enthusiasm. While this week it feels like a decorating phenomenon, I prefer a bright, vivacious color in small doses all year long.

Flowers, hand towels (and even porch pumpkins) are perfect places to play with such a striking color because they are easy to switch out. When going for something more subtle, I love to mix terracotta, copper, rust, or blush with traditional orange hues of apricot, salmon and coral. Whatever hue you choose, play up your optimism and confidence with a little orange this week!
