Let’s Talk Windows
Whew! This week has been extra busy. If you are like me, the best strategy to avoid feeling overwhelmed is open the curtains to let in lots of light, make a detailed list and then get to work!
And speaking of lots of light… Don’t you love the custom window treatments in this room? I have to admit, sometimes a photo can make a space feel slightly more elegant, but the truth is, this window is even better in person.
The drapes are the perfect color to compliment the green accent wall, but up close, they have a tweedy texture with hints of deep blue and brown. The fabric has a hefty drape, perfectly framing the large window and with simple grommets, selected to allow the drapes to hang without fuss.
This space is designed to be a game room for play as well as a space for movies and sleeping, so we opted for a functional black-out shade to finish off the window treatment. The shade adds a detail and finishing touch that coordinates with the texture of the throw pillows, but most importantly, it is easy-to-use and practical for a darkened room.
