A Barbie Kind of Dream
I am definitely a weekly fresh flowers around the house kind of girl. Pretty flowers make me smile and this arrangement is just too pretty to not share.
Watching the Barbie movie, a wedding anniversary (22 years!), a week away from “real life” and watching the lazy days of summer through my children’s eyes has made me kind of sentimental and contemplative lately.
My childhood was filled with days at my little play kitchen sink and playing Fisher-Price Little People. I spent so many hours either arranging and rearranging the cute red dishes in my kitchen or setting up the furniture in my Fisher-Price Little People house. I would very thoughtfully and carefully decide where the tiny beds and tables should go. I would think through spaces and placement in order to accommodate all of the Little People (who all had beautiful names– that was my other obsession!)
It was kind of perfect. Setting up houses and making it pretty. Kind of a dream. And also fake, like the Barbie Dream Home. But so fun.
